Loan Applications and Modifications:
How to Ensure Your Client’s Fair Lending Rights are Preserved
Did you know that mortgage servicing as well as mortgage applications are covered by fair housing and fair lending laws? Learn how to identify fair lending violations in the mortgage application and loan modification process to strengthen your client’s negotiating position with a lender or mortgage servicer. Find out how to refer victims to local and federal agencies.
Veterans and newer professionals with a commitment to fair lending are invited to attend a full-day training session offered by the National Fair Housing Alliance in 15 cities. Registration is free but you must register in advance — attendance is limited to 80 people on a first come, first served basis.
Training participants will each receive a Certificate of Completion.

Session Description: The session will provide an overview of fair lending and equal credit opportunity laws and help participants identify fair housing and fair lending violations in the mortgage application and loss mitigation process. Learn how fair lending laws apply to obtaining a mortgage, resolving a mortgage default and mortgage loan servicing practices and procedures.
Who Should Attend: The trainings are available on a first come, first served basis to employees of fair housing organizations, Fair Housing Assistance Programs, nonprofit housing counseling agencies, consumer protection agencies, disability rights organizations, and local, state and federal agencies.
